HCMC hostile, lawsuits charge

Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) came under fire at Nov. 26 Insight/KMOJ Public Policy Forum for strongly perceived racial discrimination in the work place and at a healthcare institution. Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) came under fire at Nov. 26 Insight/KMOJ Public Policy Forum for strongly perceived racial discrimination in the work place and at a healthcare institution.

Attorneys David Schulman and Rick Wylie sat on the panel, along with clients they represent in lawsuits charging HCMC with, among other illegal acts, the unlawful practice of maintaining a workplace that is hostile to Black employees. Plaintiffs Carlotta Madison, an 18-year HCMC employee and Sherry Williams, a former HCMC employee of six years, also addressed the forum.
