Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry pledged to thousands of his Minnesota supporters that he will do more to look out for active troops and those returning from duty. The Senator from Massachusetts made veteran and military issues his main theme during his speech at the University of Minnesota Sports Pavilion last Friday. Kerry said he chose Minnesota to launch Veterans for Kerry Movement due to Paul Wellstone’s tremendous service to millions of American veterans.

”I am honored that everywhere I go, I am joined by fellow veterans. Together, we have come a long way since the beginning of my campaign. Today we are kicking off a mission to organize 1 million “Veterans for Kerry” nationwide. And we are launching operations with coordinators in all 50 states.”
