Minister’s alliance awards scholarships

spbima-scholarship-recipients840The St. Paul Black Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (SPBIMA) awarded five scholarships during its annual summer revival.

The five recipients awarded scholarships during the June 25-27 retreat that was held at Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church in St. Paul, 585 Fuller Ave., are Aria Sanders of Progressive Baptist Church, Monica Taiwo of New Hope Baptist Church, Trevon Turner who attends Christ Temple Church, Taylor Staples of Progressive Baptist Church and Preston Webb who attends Pilgrim Baptist Church.

The five awardees were required to present a letter of recommendation from their school counselors, their pastors and write an essay on how racism impacted their lives.
