On Saturday, August 29th, The Rivers will unveil The Rivers Landing, a memory care neighborhood located in Burnsville, MN. The grand opening celebration will take place from 1pm to 4 pm and will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony, a special visit from Elizabeth Kautz, the Mayor of Burnsville, refreshments, entertainment, and door prizes.
This event will provide an opportunity for people to tour the new memory care neighborhood, meet residents and the team as well as learn more about Heartfelt Connections, a nationally recognized memory care program, offering people with Alzheimer’s disease and other related memory-impairing dementias the care, respect, dignity, and quality of life loved ones want for them.
Executive Director Sarah McDonagh commented, “The spirit, heart, and soul of our Heartfelt Connections Memory Care Program lie in the hands and hearts of our highly trained and selected team. They passionately dedicate their day to life-affirming activities that provide a failure-free environment to our residents and give them enriched and purposeful lives.”
The Rivers Landing is an alternative to at-home care for those with dementia.
Memory care communities, such as The Rivers Landing, are specially designed to meet the needs of adults with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. Team members undergo special training to help with communication and to help residents manage dementia symptoms like sundown syndrome, wandering, or combativeness.
