To provide a unique dining experience for its diners and guests, the iconic Oak Grill restaurant at Macy's, downtown Minneapolis is undergoing its first significant renovation in more than 50 years.

The updates will include the addition of new visual elements and new signature dishes. In addition, the Oak Grill is getting new carpet, wall coverings, lighting throughout the dining room and iconic signing at the entrance that emphasizes its heritage. Design details will also focus on upgrading the lighting of the West Room and the bar, which will be enhanced with new artwork and paint throughout the space. New tabletop details and fresh service elements will be incorporated including stylized oak votive candles, new lighting and chairs.

"We're touching every area of the room from the carpet to the chandeliers keeping in mind that our customers love the traditions we have established over the years," said Warren Wolfe, group vice president of food service for Macy's. "We want our dining room to be welcoming and familiar but fresh and a touch more contemporary. Macy's Oak Grill in the downtown Minneapolis store has been a dining icon since 1947. With this being one of most popular flagship dining experiences anywhere, we are adding some of our favorite dishes from around the country which we believe our customers will enjoy and of course retaining all the favorites like our famous popovers, chicken pot pie and holiday traditions."

Renovations to the Oak Grill are expected to be complete by mid-November
