The General Mills Foundation announced the continuation of the Celebrating Communities of Color grants program for 2007. The grants, totaling $500,000, will be awarded to nonprofit organizations in the Twin cities serving communities of color. Application deadline: September 1

The General Mills Foundation announced the continuation of the Celebrating Communities of Color grants program for 2007. The grants, totaling $500,000, will be awarded to nonprofit organizations in the Twin cities serving communities of color. Grants of $10,000 each will be awarded to fifty community groups during 2007.

The application deadline for the grants program is Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007. Grant applications are available on the Web at www.generalmills.com/foundation. For questions, please call 763-764-2211.

The grants program was established in 2004 to mark the General Mills Foundation's 50th anniversary. Organizations ranging from schools, community centers, social service agencies, health centers and arts groups have received the grants to support programming that has served more than 200,000 people in the metro area.
