Back when I was in my twenties, and my girlfriends and I would go shopping, I had one goal in mind: to spend $10 or less on each item. Am I that cheap? Well, basically: YES! My friend invited me to attend my first Ebony Fashion Fair, on May 17, hosted by the local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. I agreed to attend this annual traveling fashion show before I knew that the tickets were $75! Now I feel that I can’t back out, and I am trying to figure out how to pay for a ticket and make sure that my own look is not a Fashion-Don’t! Help!

I used to laugh at the crazy Minnesota folks who would break out in shorts and t-shirts on the first sunny day that brought forty or fifty degree temperatures. I’d also watch in disbelief those folks who, despite temperatures barely above twenty degrees, shed their coat just because the sun was shining.
As I sit on my comfy couch enjoying this sunny, yet nippy, spring day, my mind wanders off to the even warmer days which are ahead. Of course that thought leads me to visions of summertime fun – freedom from school schedules and homework and freedom to wake up at Noon and take an impromptu road trip.
