Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC) is seeking Behavior Analyst Program Assistants to join our team. Operated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, AMRTC serves adults with mental illness in a large, campus-based setting. Located just north of the Twin Cities metro area, this modern facility offers person-centered adult mental health care in a pleasant environment appreciated by patients and employees alike. Job Description:

Behavior Analyst Program Assistants (BAPAs) coordinate all unit programming, as well as facilitate skill building, educational, and peer support groups for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. BAPAs serve as active members of the treatment team and assist in the development of individual treatment plan goals, objectives, and interventions. They also assist unit staff of varying levels of expertise in implementing and sustaining Evidence Based Practices that are focused on client engagement, behavior management, and group programming. These include, but are not limited to: Person Centeredness, Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment (IDDT) and Illness Management and Recovery (IM&R). In addition, individuals in this role perform various direct care duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify, applicants must have knowledge of:

  • ·         Behavior modification principles sufficient to participate in the planning and designing of individual treatment programs for assigned residents.
  • ·         Professional and ethical guidelines, federal and state laws, and Department rules governing the practice of behavior modification sufficient to ensure that the design of treatment plans are appropriate and that treatment plans are implemented correctly.
  • ·         Training methods sufficient to ensure program delivery staff learn and understand the purpose and methods of implementing individual program plans.
  • ·         Basic health and safety principles and requirements sufficient to ensure safety needs of residents are met.

 

AND have the ability to:

  • ·         Communicate effectively in writing sufficient to ensure treatment documentation is accurate and provides the treatment team with a common understanding of treatment goals and progress.
  • ·         Translate behavior observations into quantifiable data.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ·         2 year or 4 year degree in psychology, behavior management, nursing or related mental health field.
  • ·         Experience leading treatment groups with individuals who have a serious and persistent mental illness.

 

Knowledge of:

  • ·         Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment
  • ·         Illness Management and Recovery
  • ·         Motivational Interviewing
  • ·         How to lead effective and engaging treatment groups
  • ·         How to utilize electronic medical record
