Visitors to this year’s “Great Minnesota Get-Together” are invited to taste a sampling of worldly dishes as the Minnesota State Fair will feature eight restaurants and grocers from Midtown Global Market (MGM).

Three MGM restaurants will alternate in the Midtown Global Market booth in the International Bazaar: La Loma Tamales, Jakeeno’s Trattoria and Manny’s Tortas.  They will be serving up favorite menu items from their restaurants and some new creations.

La Loma Tamales will be at the MGM booth August 27 through 30. They will again be serving their signature tamales: chicken, pork or vegetarian, 2 for $5.

Jakeeno’s Trattoria will feature their new cheesy risotto on a stick this year for $6. They will also be bringing back their four-star pear and gorgonzola salad with candied walnuts for $5 and their prosciutto wrapped asparagus, 2 for $5. Jakeeno’s Trattoria will be at the MGM booth August 31 through September 3.

Manny’s Tortas will be at the MGM booth September 4 though 7. This year Manny’s Tortas will offer a non-alcoholic pina colada served in a fresh pineapple for $7, as well as their critically-acclaimed tortas (gourmet Mexican sandwiches), for $5 each. (Varieties: Cuban, chicken and vegetarian.)

The Produce Exchange and the Salty Tart bakery will also be at the Fair August 27 through September 7 in the big yellow tent located on the lawn of the Agriculture Building across from the entrance to the International Bazaar.  The Produce Exchange will feature their famous “Big As Yo’ Face” sweet and juicy peaches, and the Salty Tart will be offering their award-winning macaroons.

Three other Midtown Global Market businesses will be located in the International Bazaar all twelve days of the Fair. Holy Land Grocery and Deli will dish-up authentic Middle Eastern fare; West Indies Soul Food will feature traditional Caribbean food; and Fiesta in America will sell an assortment of Mexican candy.

Midtown Global Market is a public market with more than 40 vendors featuring groceries, great foods and gifts. Located on East Lake Street and 10th Avenue South, there is no better place in town to satisfy your senses.
