City of Minneapolis to host open houses to gather public input on Accessory Dwelling Units (Mother-in-Law Apartments)On June 13, Minneapolis City Council Member Lisa Bender, Ward 10, gave notice of intent to introduce Zoning Code Text Amendment: Accessory Dwelling Units changes that would allow Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in residential areas. Also known as granny flats or mother-in-law apartments, ADUs are smaller dwellings that are attached to or on the same property as existing homes.

Nachito Herrera orchestra to perform at St. Peter's AMEThe Trustee Board of St. Peter's AME Church recently sponsored Cabaret IV, an evening of music, fun, food and fellowship. The event held at the church, located at 401 E. 41st St. in south Minneapolis, attracted over 100 guests and featured performances by the church's musicians Thom West, piano; Curt Boganey, saxophone; and Daryl Boudreaux, percussions. Musical guests included Larry Sims, trumpet; Perry Trenon Graham, drums; and Lee Gatlin, bass guitar. Also appearing were vocalists Maurice Jacox, Annie Favors and Valton Henderson. Perry Trenon Graham also entertained the audience with his ventriloquism skills. Guests enjoyed food and an assortment of "mocktails," non-alcoholic drinks.
