Nearly 200 community members gathered at the Neighborhoods Organizing for Change office for a forum on workers' rights in Minneapolis and throughout the state, including a need for earned sick and safe time, fair scheduling, a living wage, and ending wage theft on Saturday, February 28.

Over 7,800 volunteers from the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities, a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, bring about meaningful, enduring change by giving back to their communities.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office in partnership with Hmong International Academy, Minnesota DNR, and the Hennepin County Sheriff Foundation, hosted the 2nd annual winterized Hooked on Fishing, Not Drugs event.
Senator Bobby Joe Champion (DFL-Minneapolis) will be hosting a special screening of "Selma" on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Regal Cinemas Brooklyn Center Stadium. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the screening is free of charge.

On Tuesday, February 24, 2015, 6:00-7:30pm at the Mill City Museum, 704 South 2nd Street, Minneapolis, the City of Minneapolis will be hosting a public meeting in collaboration with Hargreaves Associates to discuss the design of the Downtown East Commons. A nationally and internationally recognized landscape architecture firm known for designing projects leading to economic growth and neighborhood change, Hargreaves Associates was selected to lead the Downtown East Commons design team project by the Minneapolis City Council on January 16, 2015. The Hargreaves Team was selected through a competitive Request for Proposals process that resulted in 14 proposals.
