Letter carriers help Northside schools

E-mail Print PDF
lettercarriersIn an effort to give back to the community, members of Branch 9 of the National Association of Letter Carriers presented Melanie Sanco of the Minneapolis Public Schools with school supplies and cash donations at the Lowry Post Office on Wednesday, October 12th. The total value of the donations was approximately $2000. These donations were made by Letter Carriers who work in Minneapolis and the surrounding suburbs. They will be targeted toward helping elementary school aged Northside children who were impacted by this summer’s tornado. The school supply drive was the brainchild of the letter carriers Olin Moore, Pete Wilson and Don Grunnes from the Lowry Station. With the support of carriers and postal management from around the city, these supplies will help provide the children with the tools they need to attend school.
