Ntozake Shange, NOMMO authors demonstrate literary brilliance

The Givens Foundation has made the Twin Cities come alive with its NOMMO series. They host African American giants who enrich Minnesota with the power of words through poetry and literature. NOMMO is a Dogon word meaning the “magic power of the word.” The Series celebrates the supremacy of the word through conversations with nationally recognized authors who demonstrate the brilliance of African American literature.

Dunwoody partners with North Memorial for Radiologic Technologist Program

Dunwoody College of Technology announced North Memorial Medical Center will transfer program sponsorship of its radiologic technologist training program to Dunwoody, which will begin offering a degree program in September 2009.

This award is presented by the college annually, to one individual, in acknowledgement of outstanding achievement in career, community engagement efforts, or other work that contributes to the education and human development of others.

Saint Paul Public Schools approves 2009 summer school changes

In an effort to accentuate programs and classes that increase proficiency and credit recovery, Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) has approved changes to the 2009 summer school schedule. The schedule also increases time for students to take advantage of summer enrichment opportunities offered through SPPS, the City and other providers.
