Another Father's Day has passed, and families all over the country honored and celebrated their father and father figures. Whether small or grand, dads on that day were the center of attention. I want to thank my children Anetra, Tinesha, Nicole, and Tim Jr. for continued reverence of me as father and mentor. The special day was just what I needed. In light of that grand day, I would like to share from my 34 years of fatherhood, my 4 pillars of fatherhood. I hope these pillars will create healthy dialogue within the family setting.

This past week has been very emotional for me and for a lot of other people. The passing of Dr. Maya Angelou touched my heart just as her many works touched me in the past. I like to say that it is because of my relationship with Dr. Angelou's work that I found the true meaning of what I was called to do. I would read her words and imagine that she was writing just for me.
"Georgia changed my way of thinking about truth... You gave me the reason, and the root... Taught me, in order to be a man... I needed to see a man... Gave me the spiritual guidance I so needed, and pleaded that I didn't repeat the cycles that I had seen repeated... I want to thank you for the lessons, and blessing that you bestowed upon me... I hope that I can someday be the man you want me to be... I'm on my way... Bottom dollar you can bet... Because God is not done with me yet..." Eric Braylock
