anthony-evansWashington DC – The National Black Church Initiative (NBCI), a faith-based coalition of 34,000 churches comprised of 15 denominations and 15.7 million African Americans is making a plea to the Catholic Church to fight against the tide of pedophilia that is a poison running through the veins of its leadership. NBCI calls on the Vatican to release all records of known pedophiles including Bishop Keith O'Brien to civil law enforcement officials of all jurisdictions here and abroad.

Rev. Anthony Evans, President of NBCI says, "I constantly pray for the souls of Catholic leaders – that they gather the courage to rid their institution of all pedophiles for the sake of the innocent young lives. What is happening now is morally reprehensible, and the Black Church will continue do everything in its power to protect our children."

The culture of corruption that lives in the Catholic Church irrevocably damages the innocent lives of young children and weakens the message of Christ worldwide. There is no greater evil than these unspeakable acts that are happening at alarming rates. This type of abuse goes against the fundamental foundations of the Christian Faith, and the Catholic Church must make ridding itself of this evil a top and constant priority
