Cherryhomes Co-Chair Announcement

jackie-cherryhomes-198x300State Sen. Bobby Joe Champion, (DFL-59) has joined the Jackie Cherryhomes for Mayor Campaign as its co-chair. Champion will serve in his new capacity alongside former City Councilmember Kathleen O'Brien, and prominent attorney and former City Councilmember Walter Rockenstein.

"I'm confident that Jackie has the ambition and expertise needed to make Minneapolis a better city for all of us," said Champion. I first met Jackie when I was a teenager concerned with life in North Minneapolis. I realized then that she is a visionary dedicated to improving Minneapolis for all residents."

Champion's political career has included two terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives, and work as an assistant Minnesota attorney general. Prior to joining politics, he worked as the executive director of the Midwest Chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors. Champion currently represents Minnesota's 59th

"I am honored to have Senator Champion on board our campaign," said Cherryhomes. "I can count on him to help me bring positive changes to this great city of lakes." Senate district.

In his role as campaign co-chair, Champion will advise the candidate on both political and municipal matters. He will play a vital part in steering the former city council president's campaign towards November.
