South Minneapolis Housing Home Improvement Fair

On Saturday, March 8th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the South Minneapolis Housing & Home Improvement Fair will take place at South High School located at 3131 19th Avenue South. This year marks the fourteenth annual Housing Fair, which has become one of the most successful and well-attended neighborhood based events in Minneapolis drawing over 2,000 attendees annually. On Saturday, March 8th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the South Minneapolis Housing & Home Improvement Fair will take place at South High School located at 3131 19th Avenue South. This year marks the fourteenth annual Housing Fair, which has become one of the most successful and well-attended neighborhood based events in Minneapolis drawing over 2,000 attendees annually.

The South Minneapolis Housing Fair is free and open to the public. The Housing Fair promotes home improvement, project financing, city living, and local neighborhood involvement. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet over 100 reputable contractors, real estate agents, lenders, community organizations, and neighborhood representatives. Attendees can also attend free seminars from local professionals on home improvement, safety, home purchase, decorating, and financing.
The theme of the 2008 Housing Fair is Safe Homes | Safe Neighborhoods. The keynote seminar titled Home Security: Learn the 4 D's - Deter, Deny, Delay & Detect will be held from 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. and will be lead by SAFE Crime Prevention Specialist Karen Notsch from the Minneapolis Police Department.

The Housing Fair is a family event. A free children's woodcraft project will be offered throughout the day. Other attractions will include hourly drawings for over $2,000 in door prizes. Refreshments will also be available for purchase.
