The Power of Us National Convention (www.nbjcoalition.org/news/power-of-us-national.html) is being convened by the National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC - nbjcoalition.org), a Washington, DC based civil rights organization. Three powerful days will be filled with non-stop workshops and panel discussions, and diverse entertainment completely focused upon issues pertaining to Black lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders as well their straight-identified allies and foes alike.
Topics such as politics, healthcare, religion, media representation, and financial literacy will be discussed during this nationally broadcast, holistic conference. The Power of Us National Convention will bring together a vibrant mix of people to openly discuss their community issues, strategies and implementations in order to better the overall African-American community.
NBJC CEO, H. Alexander Robinson explains that "Although the conference focuses on the needs and achievements of the Black gay community, we also recognize that our successes, community building efforts and the solutions to our challenges cannot be done without the support of our families, friends and allies. We welcome input, suggestions, and the participation of our entire community regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender identity."
