“I congratulate Senator Berglin on her unparalleled career in the Minnesota Senate where she fought for progressive values and led the charge for better health care in Minnesota,” said Hayden. “I wish her the best of luck and thank her for her hard work and leadership.”
Hayden, first elected to the Minnesota House in 2008, said he hoped to continue in Senator Berglin’s tradition of progressive advocacy for the district and state.
“Over the last few years I have been honored to work with Senator Berglin to combat the home foreclosure crisis, create new jobs, and expand access to quality, affordable health care access. We have made great strides, but huge challenges remain,” said Hayden. “I am excited to announce my candidacy today to run for the State Senate so we can continue fighting for a better Minnesota.”
Before serving in the Minnesota House, Hayden worked with the Hearth Connection, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending homelessness in Minnesota. Hayden lives in the Bryant neighborhood in Minneapolis with his wife Terri and their two children, Tomas and Sophia.
