Henderson's big moment is an inspirationBeing a University of Southern California football fan, I naturally thrust my victorious fist in the air, while lying in bed early in the morning and hearing Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) report that Seantrel Henderson signed with my favorite college football team. Henderson said of the decision: “I’m finally at peace.” Coincidentally, the hand symbol for Trojan Football fans is the “Victory Sign”, otherwise known as the “Peace Sign.” To quote an Ice Cube song, “It was a good day.”

Seantrel Henderson (St. Paul, MN) wins 2010 U.S. Army Inaugural Anthony Munoz AwardSeantrel Henderson (OT 6'8 300) of Cretin-Derham Hall, St. Paul, Minn. was awarded the first Anthony Munoz Award, given to the top prep lineman in the nation during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. Henderson and his West teammates outscored the East team 30 – 14 to win the 10th Anniversary game.

Minnesota Lynx partner with Lift Kids to host United World Campaign at Target Center

In celebration of Minnesota's diverse and unique culture, the Minnesota Lynx today announced a partnership with Lift Kids, Inc., a Minnesota-based non-profit organization, to host the Lift Kids United World Campaign on Sunday, May 23, 2010. The day-long celebration will feature youth performances, videos, guest appearances, informational booths, artists, workshops, music, dance; culminating with the Lynx vs. Tulsa game at 6:00 pm. Lift Kids, Inc. focuses on finding sustainable solutions to end global poverty.

The Gophers weather the storm wellThe Gopher Men’s Basketball team recently played for a shot at the top of the Big 10 Conference when they played the #4 ranked Purdue University Boilermakers. Commentator Steve Lavin referred to the game as a “classic Big Ten match-up,” and that is exactly what the product on the court showed. Both teams had that stout Big-10 defensive approach, and the complimentary methodical offense. But while the Gophers looked like they belonged on the same court as the #4 team in the country, it just seemed as though something was missing for the Gophers; something in addition to the 19 points needed to even the score at the end of the game.
