Project Assistant:

Insight News is looking for a highly-detailed, motivated and innovative project assistant to join our team and help us launch our new project: the Insight Health Equity Action Lab.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience carrying out administrative duties such as collecting data, sorting, filing and sending out project files to the right personnel, workers, and stakeholders. While we prefer candidates who have a background in public health, we will also consider candidates who have experience working in community and non-profit organizations.

About the Insight Health Equity Action Lab:

Insight News has had a long commitment to addressing health disparities in Minnesota’s African American communities. We are expanding this work through our newly-formed Insight Health Equity Action Lab (iHEAL) which will advance health equity through developing sustainable and measurable strategies.

We are looking for a Project Assistant to support this work. This person will work 20 hours per week, as a consultant, for 4 months with the strong potential to extend the contract.

Project Assistant Responsibilities:

The project assistant will support the project launch under the direct supervision of the iHEAL co-founder and will be in charge of logistics related to work such as making arrangements for meetings and presentations. The successful person will ensure that all aspects of the project are dully attended to and completed at the right time, regardless of challenges that may be encountered.

Major Duties and Tasks:

  • Write letters and send them to appropriate bodies, and receive incoming mails
  • Maintain contacts with potential stakeholders who may be interested in investing in projects
  • Keep records of all information related to project for documentation, clarification and presentation to management
  • Draft project proposal ideas and present them to the director with convincing proof for approval

  • Ability to pay attention to detail

  • Ability to solve problems
  • Ability to manage time effectively
